Welcome to the inaugural Funky Kingston Half Marathon, a running event celebrating Reggae music and Jamaican cuisine.
Get your funk on this year with a trek through the picturesque historic village of Kingston, (no, not Jamaica mon, it’s New Hampshire.) This Half Marathon has it all. Great course, awesome food and jiving music! After your race, treat yourself to the Jamaican cuisine while you jive to the rocking Reggae from a live Steel Drum band. The celebratory food includes Jamaican Jerk Chicken and authentic side dishes as well as traditional race fare.

Dreadlocks are optional! That’s right, don’t be discouraged if your running dreadlocks are not up to snuff for the race. All hair styles are welcome and encouraged. This is a hairstyle that has been so misunderstood and generated so many rumors.
Myth: You do not wash dreadlocks. Hair must be dirty to dread.
Fact: If you do not wash your hair it will stink. Dreadlocked hair needs to be washed regularly just like your hair after running.
Myth: Simply not combing your hair is the only way to get nice dreads
Fact: This is called the neglect method. But running every day and never combing your hair may earn you a good set of dreadlocks quicker.
T-Shirts: This year to celebrate the funky theme we have chosen a very funky Tie Dye shirt for the race shirt.
Whatever, Mon! Just be sure to sign up for this cool, funky race.
